Karen was one of the Founders of Smallholdr and remains an engaged strategic advisor to the company. She has been consulting in international development for ten years, focussing on ‘inclusive business’, where commercial innovations deliver sustainable pro-poor outcomes. After working with SMEs across many agricultural sectors, she has a deep understanding of the challenges that they face in sourcing from, and selling to, small farmers.
Prior to her development career, and after a short stint studying art, Karen worked as an analyst and a change programme manager, which then lead to an MBA. All of this knowledge serves her well to enable her to get to the heart of client needs and help to shape the best results from Smallholdr’s technology.
Karen is passionate about creating and exploring opportunities where the system’s unique functionality can be a game changer for both those that deploy it, as well as the smallholders with whom they work.
In her spare time Karen takes a lot of photographs.
